As I was sitting in the jui jitsu academy waiting for my son to finish his lesson, I noticed a banner on the wall that read “Nana Korobi, Ya Oki.”
It’s a Japanese proverb that translates “fall down seven times, stand up eight “
It really struck me because it doesn’t only apply to Brazilian jujitsu, or just martial arts. It’s a general life lesson, but is super relevant to you and me in our world of real estate.
I have had plenty of failures in my real estate career and the reason I was able to overcome my failures was my choice to stand back up after falling down.
But is it really a choice?
100% it is.
Sure, it might be easier to stay down, but only one person has the ability to get you back up, and that’s YOU.
The Japanese proverb “Nana Korobi, Ya Oki” means “fall down seven times, stand up eight “
I know that for many the last year and a half or so has not been the easiest and if you have found yourself in a place where you are down, I encourage you to live out this Japanese proverb.
Choose to never give up on hope. Choose to strive for more and not let your focus be on where you are right now, but rather on where you want to be.
But you won’t get there if you don’t make the choice to stand back up.
As we prepare to close out this year, think about why you got into this business and not only what it can do for you but what it can do for those in your life that it will also benefit…
And don’t forget about all of the families stuck in probate who desperately need help from honest, trustworthy people like you.
When times get tough and you feel like giving up remember that those that have changed the world were only able to do so because they chose to stand back up.
Committed to your success,
