I had a conversation earlier this week with one of my Probate Fox students that reminded me of a story I read years ago. Understanding the probate process is only half the battle. Teaching the process is an important part of what I offer, but the more important piece is giving my students is mindset and confidence in themselves to overcome obstacles. And one of the biggest obstacles we all need to overcome is our own self-doubt. Napoleon Hill, who wrote the iconic book Think & Grow Rich, tells the true story of a prospector who found some gold in the California hills during the gold rush days. His entrepreneurial spirit motivated him to buy the equipment needed to strike it rich. After digging and digging and coming up empty-handed, he decided to call it quits and sell his equipment and land claim. Another entrepreneurial spirited man comes along and buys him out. But he hired a land surveyor who studied the plot of land and told him where to dig. It turns out the first guy was literally three feet to the left of where he was digging. He was three feet short of becoming a multi-millionaire. Back to my Probate Fox student. The first thing he did was learn my course material inside and out. But that just isn’t enough. Knowing probate wasn’t going to get him his first deal. He used to struggle with cold call consistency. I coached him to push past the obstacles holding him back and now he is a regular caller. He struggled with self-doubts and fears. I helped him push past those obstacles and learned to not take no for an answer. He learned how to find his way past the gatekeeper. And as a result, he is on the cusp of his very first probate deal! And he’s done all of this in less than 2 months! Are you three feet from gold? I can tell you where to dig and keep you motivated so you don’t give up when you are so close to striking it rich. Committed to your success, Ernie “Gold Digger” Vargas | The Probate Fox |
