| I would like to share the story about a friend named Buffalo. I live in Los Angeles. Current county estimates put the number of chronically homeless individuals at roughly 15,000. Buffalo happens to be one of these people. Buffalo lives under a bridge and does not have the traditional comforts of the type of house that most of us have come to appreciate. In spite of this, every time I run into Buffalo, he is overflowing with joy and laughter. He displays nothing but happiness every single time I speak with him. Buffalo is a Texas native and proudly displays his Texan flag on his beautifully landscaped garden that he created next to the bridge that he lives under. What makes Buffalo so special? It’s his attitude. Buffalo is always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need and, in turn, everyone seems to want to lend him a hand in some form or another. It’s not an exaggeration to say that Buffalo is a local celebrity. Just the other day my daughter noticed a local artist painting a portrait of Buffalo on their canvas again! When practiced correctly and with the proper training and mentoring, real estate is a business that will provide you with abundance. Living the lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of because of the success you find in probate real estate can be a great gift. But it’s our attitude toward others that really defines who we are, and ultimately the happiness we will find in life. Does Buffalo live a life of material abundance? Not by a long shot. But every time I see him, he reminds me that there are some things greater. This attitude of “giving of self” is so powerful. I’ll let you in on one of my best-kept secrets – this is part of the foundation of what I teach my Probate Fox students: learn to be of assistance to your prospects in their time of need. It’s like the old saying goes – give and it will come back to you tenfold.
