Save Yourself First When the Plane Goes Down

I flew into Tampa last night. Most people run away from natural disasters. Hurricane Ian is bearing down on this side of Florida, but I’m meeting with a group and I’m sort of like the mailman – neither snow, nor rain, nor heat… nor hurricanes.

As we were getting ready to take off on my first flight, the stewardess was going through her spiel and when she got to the part about putting your oxygen mask on it got me thinking.

If the plane depressurizes, you’re supposed to put your mask on first. Got your wife and kids on the plane? Save yourself first. Sitting next to a group of nuns? Save yourself first.

Why? Because if you don’t take care of yourself first, you won’t be in any position to help anyone else. What good are you if you’re passed out on the floor?

That got me thinking about probate real estate. Probate is different than ordinary real estate. People have big problems that require creative solutions.

But if you don’t have the knowledge or, more importantly, the mindset to push through those obstacles and find a solution, you won’t be any use to anyone. These families stuck in probate won’t get the help they need. And your family won’t get the income they deserve (remember: solving big problems = big paydays).

To your success,
