The end of the year is a special time. It’s that sweet spot where we can reflect on the year gone by and make exciting plans for the year ahead.
With just 11 days left in the year, let’s talk about how you can make the most of this time to both cherish your loved ones and gear up for a phenomenal new year.
Reflect and Celebrate
First, take a moment to look back. How did your year go?
Were you intentional about setting and pursuing your goals?
Did you make time for the people and activities that matter most?
I love doing this reflection with my family. It gives me a chance to hear about their wins, their challenges, and what they want for the next year.
It’s not just about business or finances, it’s about our growth as people, the memories we’ve created, and the lessons we’ve learned.
But don’t stop there.
Celebrate those wins!
Even the small ones.
Recognizing progress, no matter how incremental, builds momentum and inspires us to keep moving forward.
Plan and Prioritize
Now, it’s time to set the stage for next year. What do you want 2025 to look like? And more importantly, how will you get there?
I find that starting with a list of questions helps me zero in on what truly matters.
Here are a few you might want to ask yourself:
- What worked well this year, and why?
- What challenges did I face, and how did I handle them?
- What goals did I achieve, and what fell short?
- What do I want to do differently next year?
- Are there any habits I need to let go of or new ones I should adopt?
- How can I better align my goals with my personal values?
- What specific milestones do I want to reach in the next 12 months?
- Who do I want to spend more time with, and how can I make that happen?
- What’s one bold move I’ve been putting off that I’ll commit to in 2025?
- How will I hold myself accountable for the goals I set?
Write your answers down, and let them guide your goal-setting process. Having this clarity will help you create actionable, meaningful goals.
Family, Friends, and Fun
Of course, this time isn’t just about planning. It’s also about being present.
Enjoy the holiday season with family and friends.
Create memories, share laughter, and soak up these moments.
Life isn’t just about hitting goals; it’s about living fully and joyfully.
For me, that might mean gathering everyone around for a game night or taking a quiet walk with my wife Kathy.
Whatever it looks like for you, prioritize the people you love.
