I just came back this weekend from my trip to Cleveland, Ohio and thankfully I made it just in time for Father’s Day.
If you’re a father or there’s a father in your life, I hope you had a great time celebrating and enjoying this day.
I have four kids and we had a great day.
But as far as my father goes, to be honest with you, that role was handed over to my mother.
My biological father bailed on us the moment he found out that my mother was pregnant.
Growing up people always asked where my father was and I would make up this story about how he had died (because to us he was dead).
But then people would dig and ask questions about how old I was when it happened, when it happened, how it happened, and how I felt, how I coped, and how he probably was some great man, etc.
Finally, I got tired of this nonsense and that question so I got to the point and I just told people the straight and blunt truth.
Here, you wanna know, I’ll tell you…...I……am….a bastard!!!!!!!!
People were immediately silenced and there was always this moment of awkwardness. They immediately switched the subject and finally I got people off my back.
Anyway, the reason I share this with you is because, in Cleveland, I attended a direct response marketing conference taught by the one and only Dan Kennedy whom I have been a student of for over 14 years.
I have mastered marketing in probate like no other person, but what’s important about that is how I have been able to share this with my tribe.
But more importantly, how my students have the same successful results in Probate Leads conversion in any part of the country including Ohio where one of my students, who happens to be a single mother, landed her first deal.
I am so proud of her because everybody in her circle told her that she was just chasing a dream and that she needed to give that up and “get real”.
Well, guess what, she was real; real serious about her decision and her commitment to get her first deal so that she could be a hero to the person that mattered most in her life which was her son.
She did it!
She got her first deal which is why I share this with you because the truth is that there are no excuses there is just a lack of commitment and a lack of decision to succeed
Like the great Dan Sullivan said,
“Who do you want to be a hero to?”
For me, my mother is my hero.
I hope this inspires you to become a hero to the ones who are important in your life.
Get up, make a decision, and commit.
