Way back, many moons ago before I discovered the magical world of real estate investing, I worked a lot of different jobs.

But I wouldn’t really call them jobs. They were more like J.O.B.s (Just Over Broke). But I wasn’t even over broke. I had no money at all. What I did have was a wife, a hungry child, and a lot of bills.

At one point I had a job as a car salesman. Although I loved sales and helping people find the perfect car for them, back then it was a really sleazy industry. My boss wanted us to bury people as far as we could in debt so the dealership could make as much money as possible.

That’s not who I am. I just couldn’t do that to people who were looking for a trusted advisor to help them find new transportation.

It was during this time that I got a real estate investing course on cassette tapes (yes, I am that old).
Instead of trying to scam people out of their money, I would sit in the cars on the lot and listen to the tapes all day learning all about investing.

It’s funny. If I didn’t hate that job as much as I did, I never would have sat in those new cars listening to tapes all day. I never would have discovered real estate investing.

Life takes you on strange paths, but if you continue to look for and walk through open doors, you will reach the promised land.

Committed to your success,
Ernie “No More J.O.B.” Vargas | The Probate Fox
