Dead Cats In the Freezer

On Monday I wrote about house hoarders and asked you to share your probate house hoarder horror stories. My Probate Fox family did not disappoint – I got a ton of replies all loaded with crazy stories.

One of the craziest was from Casey who wrote: “Just dealt with one… Victorville, had to evict tenants and walked into a nightmare. Rodents, roaches and 2 cats in a deep freezer that was left without “cold” for 3 weeks.”

It’s unbelievable how some people live. But can you imagine inheriting a property like this? The first thing that pops into most people’s heads is that the house is a total loss and they imagine their inheritance completely disappearing.

Being a probate real estate professional doesn’t just mean we buy and sell houses. We truly are super heroes to these unfortunate souls. I think this is why so many people crash and burn when they try to jump into the probate niche.

Sure, the money is amazing, but if you’re only in it for the money, you won’t last long. It’s really about helping people in need. If you make this your focus and priority, the money will follow.

With the shifting markets and interest rates over 6%, there’s a lot of talk in the real estate world about niching down. Most people follow the money and crash and burn. Follow your heart and I guarantee you’ll succeed.

To your success,
Ernie “Follow Your Heart” Vargas | The Probate Fox
