Yesterday the news featured a house in Granada Hills that was being sued by LA County because it was overrun by junk and trash. Working probate real estate for over 20 years, I’m normally used to this kind of stuff. But this house takes hoarding to a whole new level. And the crazy thing with this house is the city spent twelve thousand dollars cleaning it up for the family a while back only to have it fill up with junk a few months later. When it comes to probate, there is a ton of money to be made with hoarder houses. But it’s not just about the money. It’s these kinds of opportunities where you get to be a true probate super hero to people. These poor souls inherit an absolute disaster. They have no clue where to begin. You are one of the only people who can help them out of a situation that seems hopeless to them. I’ve walked into (and right back out of) homes filled with rodents, flees, and some of the worst smells you can imagine. But, like I always say “the bigger the problems, the bigger the payday!” And some of these projects have netted me some of my biggest profits. To your success, Ernie “Helping Hoarders” Vargas | The Probate Fox |
