Tales From My Turkey Birthday

The Vargas family just got done enjoying a fun-filled long Thanksgiving weekend. We had our usual turkey family dinner on Thursday with the obligatory nap afterward.

Then we celebrated my birthday on Friday. Yup, the Probate Fox is not immortal. But I like to think that I age like wine.

A while back I told you about the scavenger hunt I created for my daughter Rebecca’s birthday. My whole family had so much fun I decided my gift to myself would be to create another city-wide scavenger hunt through Los Angeles with the victor winning a unique customized grand prize!

Clues were solved, points were earned, the city was scavenged. And my 20 year old daughter ended up victorious.

Her winning options were:

1 – a trip to Disneyland for her and our whole family

2 – a new pair of Doc Martens bought directly in London, England when we head over there as a family in February

3 – a cheap sweater or hoodie

But the real winner was me. The memories we made over the past weekend will stay with me forever. As real estate entrepreneurs, we work hard. And that hard work produces amazing results that allow us to do things others only dream of.

But if you don’t take the time to enjoy the fruits of your labors, the days, weeks, months, and years will slip by leaving you with an emptiness no amount of money can fill.

Do me a favor – tell your significant other that you love them a couple of extra times today. Give your kids an extra half hour of your time tonight. And make plans to take a day or two off so you can make something that’s more important than getting another house under contract. Make some memories with those you love.

To your success,
Ernie “I’m The Real Winner” Vargas | The Probate Fox
