Peekaboo- My Ring Doorbell Can See You

I’m finishing up a rehab project that has been a bit of a challenge. I think I’ve told you about it before.

This is the house that I not only had to replace all of the laterals (which ran all the way from the back of the house to the front right UNDER the entire slab of the house), it’s also the same house that was broken into and robbed of all the new cabinets, fixtures, and even my crew’s tools were taken.

After the robbery, a friend of mine turned me onto Ring. If you haven’t heard of Ring, it’s a real-time surveillance system that has, among other options, a camera right in the doorbell.

My knowledge of probate real estate is vast, but my understanding of electronics is embarrassingly limited. This system is so simple to set up, even I was able to do it.

My daily entertainment is no longer Hulu and YouTube. I now entertain myself watching people in the property!
There’s a microphone and speaker feature so I can communicate (translate: pull pranks) on my rehab crew.

And now that the house is on the market, I get to watch agents show the house off. I always crack up when the kids go to the doorbell and make funny faces.

This all got me thinking about how else I could use Ring to better serve the people I work with.

I have one seller who inherited a vacant house that was already broken into once. She called me the other day and told me she was worried about future break-ins.

I believe in a holistic approach to serving others, so I helped her install a Ring camera system into the property.

A couple of days later she called and said she was so grateful I helped her that she’s decided she only wants to sell the property to me, even though there are literally dozens of other real estate investors knocking on her door and constantly ringing her phone.

Moral of the story – use technology to your advantage and always look for ways to help people when they are in need.
Committed to your success,
