Here’s a crazy statistic – on average in the U.S. people stay at a job for 4.1 years. Now I haven’t worked a regular W2 job in decades thanks to the probate real estate niche. But it seems crazy to me that people change jobs so often. But this statistic tells me one thing – people just aren’t happy in their careers. And this is true whether you are 20 or 50. Years back you almost never heard of people in their 50’s changing jobs, but now it’s not uncommon for someone to move away from the security and stability of their current job and take a leap of faith into something new. We all have different reasons why we remain in the work that we are in. Change can be scary. A lot of people choose to remain a slave to a job they detest because they are scared of giving up their medical insurance or steady stream of income – even if that income is way less than what they really want to be making. Other responsibilities, like kids, can easily stop someone dead in their tracks from taking the leap to a better life. And I get that – it can be scary heading into the unknown, and this is especially true if you’re a single parent. But by the time you’re hitting your 50s, kids are growing up, graduating college, and launching into the workplace as full-fledged adults. So that means it’s your turn, right? But I’ve seen it so many times where people are still reluctant to take that leap, even when all of those barriers are no longer holding them back. That’s the funny thing about being human. We can get stuck in a rut, allowing our minds to hold us back when all other obstacles have been removed. I share this with you, because lately, I have had the pleasure and honor to coach some folks who are in this age bracket. They’ve taken that bold leap into entrepreneurship through the niche of probate real estate and are absolutely loving their new experience. They’re experiencing a financial and personal freedom they knew they always wanted, but never thought was possible. I know once upon a time it would have been impossible for somebody in their 50s to start a new career, but this isn’t the 80’s or 90’s. We’re living in a world where the opportunities and possibilities are not only endless, but easier than ever to obtain if you find the right mentor. With every year that goes by, we realize the value of real autonomy. Time is no longer a hand ticking around a circle on the wall – it is something we need to take advantage of to the fullest. You need to control your time and your schedule living life on YOUR terms. Don’t let someone else tell you when you can and can’t go on vacation. It is your responsibility to be the master of your own schedule. Don’t let someone else tell you how much you should get paid. If you take control of your life by becoming the entrepreneur you know you should be, there is no longer a ceiling or cap on your income. Probate real estate is the fastest and easiest path to follow. Now is the time to live your best life sharing the talents and gifts that God has blessed you with.
