Trust, Empathy, and the New Face of Probate

It’s time we pay close attention to an important shift happening in America, especially in probate and real estate investing.

Women are rapidly becoming the primary controllers of assets, including real estate.

This is a powerful demographic shift, and as someone who’s spent years in probate real estate,

I’m seeing more and more how impactful it is to serve these women thoughtfully and genuinely.

Let me explain why this shift is so significant—and how it can influence our approach in probate real estate.

First off, women generally outlive men, which means they often become the ones handling inherited estates and property portfolios.

They’re also set to control a huge majority of assets over the next couple of decades, from stocks to real estate.

That’s a massive responsibility, and yet, very few advisors and real estate professionals are even focusing on them.

But here’s the thing: in probate, this demographic is gold.

And let me tell you, working with women in probate is not just good business; it’s also a rewarding experience.

Over the last few years, some of my best clients and most rewarding deals have come from helping women navigate the probate process.

But it doesn’t start with a fast pitch or a quick sale.

 It starts with trust.

From experience, I can tell you that women, especially those dealing with complex estates, are wary of anyone just trying to make a quick buck off them.

And they should be.

Probate is a sensitive, sometimes emotionally charged process.

These women want someone who’s not just out for the commission but who genuinely wants to help them through the toughest moments, honoring what they’ve inherited while helping them make smart decisions.

When you gain their trust and prove you’re there to help, the partnership that develops can be strong and lasting.

In fact, one of the most valuable things I’ve learned in probate is that trust is everything.

You can’t just show up with an offer.

You need to take the time to understand where they’re coming from, hear their concerns, and give them guidance they can rely on.

This approach isn’t just good ethics…it’s smart business.

When we serve these women with honesty and competence, the benefits flow both ways.

I’ve built relationships with women who initially didn’t know who to trust, and now, they’re my biggest advocates, sending referrals and returning when they need advice on future estate planning.

So, it’s more than just a single transaction.

It’s about building a reliable, respected brand and lasting partnerships.

To those looking to get into probate real estate or grow their influence in the field, remember this…

you’re not just dealing with properties…

you’re serving people at one of the most challenging times in their lives.

By focusing on what this changing demographic truly needs, you’re setting yourself apart from the competition and creating a business built on trust and lasting success.

Stay engaged, stay sincere, and let’s embrace this shift.

It’s a win-win, and it’s exactly why we’re here.

To your success,

Ernie “ People Over Profit” Vargas
