Wanna Get Lucky?

I love to work. That’s a weird statement to make after just getting back from a 3 week trip through Italy. Was my trip for pleasure or work? It was both actually. I took the trip to get together with some of the smartest marketing minds I’ve ever met. We’ve been getting together a couple of times a year for the past eight years, and this time we ended up in Rome.

The cool thing is I took my entire family with me. I am filled with incredible memories of a beautiful country and the most hospitable people ever. We went from Rome to Naples to Florence. Italy really is an amazing place to visit.

After I got back and shared some of the pictures and stories of our travels with friends, they told me, “Ernie, you are so lucky to have traveled throughout Italy with your entire family.”

And you know what? They are right. I get to do something with my family that not everyone gets to do. Whether it’s going to Hawaii, traveling coast-to-coast across the United States, or adventuring through Italy, this is something that not everybody gets to do.

Did the trip cost me a pretty penny? You betcha. On top of the cost of traveling, we found the best tour guides we could get. But the truth is that money comes and goes. You can always make more. The one thing that you can NEVER replace is time. And unfortunately, time is something that we all too often take for granted.

Why are you in the real estate business? Sure I love helping people, but real estate is meant to provide us with a lifestyle that allows us to spend more time doing the things that are important to you. With people who are important to you.

July is almost over which means we are over halfway through 2022. Are you where you want to be right now? Do you have a plan to accelerate your business through the second half of the year? It’s not too late to hit those goals. But you need to act NOW to make this year really count.

I cannot accurately express to you how much that trip meant to me. I have four kids. My oldest is 22 now and my youngest is 13. The memories we made with each other will remain with each of us for the rest of our lives.

Remember how my friends told me I was lucky to be able to travel to Italy with my family? I’ll let you in on a little secret. Luck has nothing to do with it. The reality is that money is attracted to speed. I’ve lived by this axiom and it has never let me down. Taking strong, consistent action has opened door after door after door for me. When I run into an obstacle, I immediately take action to move past it. And I am always richly rewarded.

If you insist on calling it luck, I guess I’d have to say that the harder you work, the luckier you get. But if you can control it, it’s not really luck now is it?

To your success,
