God has blessed me in many ways and with many gifts. Rhythm is not one of them. When I am coaxed to hit the dance floor, I usually end up looking like Elaine from Seinfeld. Have you ever seen the episode where Elaine dances? It’s a classic! Here’s a link to check it out lol But my oldest daughter, Christina, is getting married this Saturday and the father/daughter dance is really important in our family. I know I’m not gonna get any better on my own so I’m working with Christina as my coach to leverage what she knows to make me look amazing on the dance floor with our dance. Family is so important. Aside from me slipping away to work on my father/daughter dance moves, Kathy and I have made it a point to spend as much time together as possible with all four of our kids this week….plus just yesterday we celebrated our 25 year wedding anniversary. Time slips by so fast. As real estate investors, we’re always working on investing in new properties. Being the best investor that we can be is important – it’s great to grow professionally so we can provide for our loved ones. But we need to be even better at investing in our families. I’m not talking about anything money can buy. I’m talking about our time. There’s no more important investment that we can make. The problem is it’s easy to put off. Family will always forgive you for missing a game, recital, or meal. But let me ask you this – when your time comes and you’re standing at the pearly gates looking back at every decision you made in your life and you look at all those opportunities you missed to spend with your family, would you go back and tell your younger self to choose differently? That’s what I do when I’m confronted with these kinds of conundrums. And I almost always choose family. To your success, Ernie “Two Left Feet” Vargas | The Probate Fox |
