April 15

Last summer I took my son, Ernie Jr., and a group of boys in his boy scout troop on a two-week backpacking trip in the mountains of New Mexico.

We had no cell service or any kind of modern-day distractions so we had an absolute blast singing and sharing stories with each other.

Frank, who was one of my fellow adult leaders was an amazing storyteller. He kept us entertained all along the hike.

I was going through pictures from the trip and I just remembered one of the stories he told. It was so funny, I want to share it with you too.

It’s about his uncle who absolutely loved baseball. His dream was to visit every ballpark in the nation.
He lived in Los Angeles and sadly only got to spend time visiting the California baseball stadiums. Dodger Stadium was his favorite.

His last wishes before he passed away were for his wife to take his ashes and to travel the country and spread his ashes among all the baseball stadiums across America.

He wanted his legacy to live on by his ashes being spread throughout the ballparks of America and he left his wife a pretty decent financial cushion to make this happen.

Now what he had envisioned was his ashes being spread out throughout the turf.
But his wife had other plans.

She took his ashes to a couple of ballparks and flushed them down the toilet!

Frank had me laughing with that story because I don’t think that’s exactly what his uncle had in mind lol.
But it did get me thinking about what a legacy is and the reason we work as hard as we do.

We need to enjoy life and live out some of the dreams that we want to have fulfilled before it’s too late.

As Frank’s uncle can attest, we shouldn’t leave our dreams in someone else’s hands – they might just flush our dreams down the toilet like poor Frank’s uncle’s wife did!

Investing in real estate is one of the best ways to make your dreams come true and create a legacy for your heirs to enjoy as well.

No one is ever too old or too young to get started. And you don’t need a pile of cash either (I was dead broke when I got started). You just need to have the guts to take that first step. When you’re ready, I’m here to help.

Committed to your success,
